LIZ MORROW IS AN ALASKA GROWN FINE ARTIST, WRITER, AND ILLUSTRATOR
Liz is best known for her bold, organic, graphic style and her exploration of themes of nature, liberation and irreverent joy.
Liz has exhibited around the Pacific Northwest, including at Washington State History Museum, Whitworth University, and Fife History Museum.
Liz has identified as an artist since her earliest memories as a child, and went on to study printmaking and digital art at Whitworth University in Spokane Washington. Her fine art work often touches on her mixed indigenous Unangax ancestry and her roots in Alaska, as well as her appreciation of her transplanted home in Tacoma, Washington.
When she's not making art, you can find her throwing a barbell overhead and competing at olympic weightlifting meets in the Pacific Northwest. She lives and works in Tacoma, Washington. Scroll down to learn more fun facts about Liz!
Kiska
You may see a feisty little tri-color fluffy corgi in the background of our instagram videos, and if you're lucky, maybe you'll even find some corgi glitter in your order (an occurance I try my best to avoid but a 100% success rate is impossible to achieve, IYKYK). She's the sweetest and most ornery friend, and I love her even if she'd run away to join the circus if given the chance.
Olympic Weightlifting
At the *very young* age of 37 I decided to take up Olympic Weightlifting and it's become one of my favorite things in the world. I've found a wonderful community at my training gym and I'm the strongest I've ever been in my entire life, it's an intoxicating feeling! I've started competing at local meets and have even qualified for some national meets! So exciting!
Printmaking
I was introduced to printmaking as an art major at Whitworth University. I knew I was going to be an art major, but as I started taking art classes, I found myself drawn to printmaking because it was something I had never done before-- unlike drawing and painting. I took an intro to printmaking class and was instantly hooked. I loved the history in bookmaking, protest posters, and signage, and I deeply appreciated the democratizing effect that prints offered to the fine art world. Printmaking is a way to print fine art originals to folks who might not otherwise be able to afford one-off originals like paintings, and there's something magical about a repeatable matrix.
Sitka
You might notice us traveling to Sitka, Alaska in the summers. While I grew up in Anchorage, AK, my parents now live part time in Sitka and we travel north each summer. It feels like a pilgrimage to reconnect with the land, be in a place that feels rooted and inspiring, and also to send my kiddo to Sitka Fine Arts camp each June. In 2025 I was chosen as one of the residents for Sheldon Jackson Museum's Alaska Native Artist Residency and got to spend an entire month making art in Sitka!
